National Rural Health Day

Thank you for joining us in celebrating the #powerofrural in SC this year on November 19, 2020!

Thursday, November 19, 2020, marked the 10th annual National Rural Health Day.

The National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health (NOSORH) sets aside the third Thursday each November to “Celebrate the Power of Rural” by honoring the selfless, community-minded, “can do” spirit that prevails in rural America. The day also gives us a chance to bring to light the unique healthcare challenges that rural citizens face, and showcase the efforts of rural healthcare providers, State Offices of Rural Health and other rural stakeholders to address those challenges.

The SC Office of Rural Health celebrated NRHD by recognizing our six annual award winners, as well as South Carolina’s Community Star, named by NOSORH.

SCORH’s CEO Graham Adams, PhD offers an overview and introduction to South Carolina’s 10th annual celebration of National Rural Health Day.
Watch as Gov. Henry McMaster acknowledges SC’s National Rural Health Day and thanks our rural providers for all that they do.
Without further ado, let us introduce South Carolina’s 2020 Community Star! We are so very proud of our very own Mrs. Virginia Berry White, LMSW.
