National Rural Health Day

Join us in celebrating the #powerofrural in SC this year on November 18, 2021!

Thursday, November 18, 2021, marks the 11th annual National Rural Health Day.

The National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health (NOSORH) sets aside the third Thursday each November to “Celebrate the Power of Rural” by honoring the selfless, community-minded, “can do” spirit that prevails in rural America. The day also gives us a chance to bring to light the unique healthcare challenges that rural citizens face, and showcase the efforts of rural healthcare providers, State Offices of Rural Health and other rural stakeholders to address those challenges.

Here in South Carolina, the SC Office of Rural Health will celebrate our own state’s Community Star. Tune in to our social media channels on Nov. 18 for the big reveal!

We’ll also use social media to highlight the resiliency, resolve, readiness and relationships that make our rural communities strong.

Finally, we want to hear your thoughts about the “power of rural” across South Carolina.
What do you love about living and working in a rural community?
What makes rural South Carolina unique?
Share your thoughts in word, video or photography. Tag us on social media and use the hashtag #PowerofRural, and together we’ll tell the story of the character and strength of our rural communities.

NOSORH will offer these nationwide virtual events:
