National Professional Social Work Month is an opportunity for social workers around the world to shed light on the profession and highlight the important work they do to change lives on the individual, family, community, and policy levels.

At the South Carolina Office of Rural Health, our social workers have many different roles working at the state level and in local communities. From community engagement to resource development to advocating for patients and their families, our social workers help ensure the needs of rural residents are addressed.

Our perinatal social workers on our Family Solutions of the Low Country team specifically help reduce infant mortality rates by providing education, counseling services, case management, and support to women, infants, and their families in Allendale, Bamberg, Barnwell, Hampton, and Orangeburg counties.

Please join us in celebrating the diligent and caring social workers at the South Carolina Office of Rural Health.
