The South Carolina Office of Rural Health (SCORH) held the grand opening for the Family Solutions (FS) Family Resource Center (FRC) today on February 1, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. The FRC is a flexible, community and family focused hub for services and resources. The current resources available through FRC are SNAP, WIC mobile unit, mental health mobile unit, infant mental health, legal advice, pregnancy information and more.

SCORH CEO Graham Adams kicked off the opening today and welcomed attendees followed by an introduction of Orangeburg City Council member Annette

Dees Grievous. Lamikka Samuel, director of Family Solutions shared information about the Family Resource Center and the current available services provided by the center. Samuel thanked other instrumental partners and welcomed to the podium, director of DSS, Michael Leech and CEO of Children’s Trust, Sue Williams. The president of the Orangeburg Chamber of Commerce, James McQuilla led the formal ribbon cutting and officially opened the Family Resource Center.

“The FRC is intended to be a family friendly place where anyone in the community can come and receive multiple services in one-stop. These services include pregnancy information, mental health counseling, WIC and much more. FS has been working in the community for 26 years and we have seen the love, support, and pride in this community,” Lamikka Samuel, FS Director.
