Implicit Bias in Health Care: Addressing Bias from a Systems and Interpersonal Approach

About this session: The 4C Collaborative helps support health systems across the state of South Carolina to improve patient outcomes. THE 4C COLLABORATIVE PRESENTS… Implicit bias refers to attitudes or stereotypes that are outside our awareness but nonetheless affect our understanding, interactions and decisions. Disparities in medical treatment can result from implicit biases based upon factors like race/ ethnicity, gender, age, or other characteristics. This panel discussion will provide practical skills for recognizing biases and empower participants to take steps to reduce the impact of those biases in healthcare interactions and decisions.
